RepairableVehicle.com is getting the job done for auto recyclers

Grand Rapids, MI - July 31, 2002 - RepairableVehicle.com, a dot com startup by local web development company Mindscape Creative, is really getting the job done for auto recyclers all across the United States.

"RepairableVehicle.com is the ultimate site for any person considering buying or selling a repairable vehicle. We are creating a community on the web that helps auto recyclers sell their vehicles by making it easy for buyers to locate them," says Paul Ferrier, one of the founders.

RepairableVehicle.com was not originally intended to benefit recyclers all across the United States. "We actually developed RepairableVehicle.com as a site to help the members of an automotive recycling organization here in Michigan. However, the response to the site outside of Michigan was too much to ignore," states Ferrier. "A request came in from Elgin Super Auto Parts in Elgin, IL and it snowballed from there."

Each recycler controls his or her own vehicle inventory, whether through a link on RepairableVehicle.com which is called a "Direct Membership," or through their own website, supplied by Mindscape Creative.

Through database programming, Mindscape Creative has tied each of the auto recycler's websites directly into RepairableVehicle.com, so the recycler isn't bothered to add the vehicle two times. Seeing it first hand was pretty impressive!

"The websites we offer to the members would cost thousands of dollars elsewhere. But we have developed them in such a way that it is affordable for the recycler to be a part of this great website."

And it has worked! RepairableVehicle.com "launched" on May 6, 2002 with 4 members and 6 vehicles. Now, not even 3 months later, the website has over 50 members from New York to Alaska, helping to contribute to the 100's of vehicles on the site, changing daily.

A local company taking advantage of RepairableVehicle.com is Ken's Auto Parts of Muskegon. "My Internet sales alone have risen at least 25% since launching our new website. The vehicles we have sold have paid for the website for at least a couple years, and that was in the first couple months," says Kenny Whipple of Ken's Auto Parts.

The auto recycler the guys at Mindscape Creative should really be thanking for their new found success is the first company that opened the doors outside of Michigan, Bryan Hoffman of Elgin Super Auto Parts.
